Incentive

What should you do if you, as a leader, feel that the team spirit is spilling over into negative ways?

With a canyoning tour we managed to bring back the "we feeling" to the team. Ten participants fight together through a rough terrain between water, rock and wood.

Leaving the daily routine and into the wildlife feeling. This was our motto. We started a canyoning tour in the Tirol mountain world with a team from the telecommunications sector. The focus of the incentive was on motivation, solidarity and readiness to help within the group.

Because the group consisted only out of men, we decided to use a "tough" canyoning guide, who has the boys immediately under control. With clear announcements, but also with regard to the dangers, the team was introduced to the basics of canyoning. Afterwards they went straight into the enjoyment. Already the first "water slide" requested courage and concentration: A thirty meters slide-party and afterwards a free fall in three meters depth. Other obstacles such as abseiling from a fifty-meter cliff or the four-meter jump from a rock ledge into a water hole were just some of the highlights of the four-hour adventure trip.

For some of the actors, the obstacles were a big challenge. But they gave courage to each other and the so created group dynamics provided the right impetus to bring everyone to the goal in the end. The growing willingness to help each other and also the respect for the guide, who was the only person who knew what to do at that moment, could be observed. Together they helped each other to overcome the obstacles and cheered on each other. Despite some dangers, which were quite given, it was all in all a great fun, which let the mood into positive ways.

SX Group would like to thank again our great guide Martina and the courageous participants, who proved that it is possible to overcome even big hurdles together.
